Here's a "To-Do"
list of things
to consider when purchasing a vehicle:
- Find the MSRP. This is an essential
way to ensure that you are not paying too much for your next
vehicle. Finding out the dealers
invoice price allows you to work with the dealer and come
to the table with knowledge, you are the buyer and you have
the power.
- Write down all the vehicles
that you consider right for you. Anything from a station
wagon to an SUV. From a sports car to a luxury sedan.
This will give you the opportunity to weed out the vehicles
once you look over the expert reports.
>- Decide what your budget
is like. A great thing to do is decide this prior to actually
looking at vehicles. Know what you can afford monthly
if you plan on getting a loan and don't forget insurance
costs.
- Gather as much information
as you can about these vehicles so you can make a conscious
decision. You can never have too much information.
There is information on assessing vehicles,
determining the right car for you, negotiating, getting the best
price, insurance as well as tips, advice and vehicle comparisons
within this site, be sure to get as much information as you can
to make a better purchasing decision.
Thinking of a luxury vehicle?
There's good news! On January 1, 1999 the tax rate on luxury
vehicles fell to six percent on new vehicles with a transaction
price in excess of $36,000, according to the (AIADA).
This decrease is part of the luxury tax phase
out that was signed into law just after six years of AIADA lobbying
back in 1996. Each year the rate will drop one percent till
January 2004 when it will then expire.
