The 2008 Forester is safe and economical SUV, available in 3
trims, ranging from the 2.5 X to the 2.5 XS Premium Package. Comparable
vehicles in the marketplace to the 2008 Forester include the Buick
Rendezvous, the Mazda Tribute, and the Toyota RAV4. Both trims are
equipped with a standard 2.5-liter, H4, 165-horsepower engine that
achieves 21-mpg in the city and 27-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed manual
transmission with overdrive is standard, and a 4-speed automatic
transmission with overdrive is optional. The 2008 Forester is redesigned
for 2008.
